5 Things You Can Start Today To Improve Your Health
Proper Zzz’s: I cannot emphasize enough the importance of good quality sleep. Make sleep a priority and try to get 7-9 hours of sleep each night. You’ll start to look and feel like yourself again. Getting adequate sleep supports energy levels, healing, immunity, physical and mental wellbeing, cognitive function and so much more.
Move your body like it’s 1999: Physical exercise means something different to everyone, which is why I’m using “movement”. Our bodies are made to move, so get moving! Get your body going daily and in your own capacity. If you don’t move it, you’ll lose it. Moving your body supports longevity, increases energy, improves mood, promotes detoxification and on and on and on!
Hydrate, hydrate, hydrate: We’ve all heard the saying that our bodies are made up of over 70% water. So what do you think is happening internally if we are not replenishing this water? The symptoms can be similar to a lack of food and can promote disease. Try tracking how much water you drink in a day and see if you’re anywhere near 8 glasses a day. Drinking enough water during the day can really improve mood, clarity, attention, energy and so on.
Bring on the Zen: Find something that brings you a sense of calm, whether it’s music, writing, reading, drawing, yoga, meditating, breathing exercises, gratitude, or something totally different. It can be for just 2 minutes! Small, simple and often and you’ll feel so much lighter mentally and physically.
Just eat real food: Last but not least! Just eat real food… Focus on eating foods that do not come from a package. Try to get in lots of vegetables, fruits, and healthy proteins, fats and healthy carbs. If you focus as much as you can on eating real food for each meal, you’ll be less likely to grab for processed foods. Good food = good mood 😊.
Easier said than done? Sure. But, it’s not all or nothing. It’s progress over perfection. Just start, trip, and trip often, but keep going.
